E-Invoicing in United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Doing business in the UAE? Mandatory e-invoicing is being introduced from 1 January 2027, with businesses required to exchange structured electronic invoices through an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) and report the required invoice data to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

The implementation will take place in phases:

  • 30 October 2026: Businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider.
  • 1 January 2027: Mandatory e-invoicing begins for businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more.
  • 31 March 2027: Businesses with annual revenue below AED 50 million and government entities must appoint an ASP.
  • 1 July 2027: Mandatory e-invoicing begins for businesses with annual revenue below AED 50 million.
  • 1 October 2027: Mandatory e-invoicing begins for government entities.
