Legislation:

January 1, 2014: Suppliers based in Austria have to issue e-invoices for all B2G transactions via a company service portal (USP).

April 2019: Directive 2014/55/EU transposed: all public entities must be able to receive and process electronic invoices in accordance with the European Standard on e-invoicing (EN-16931).

January 1, 2022: e-Rechnung.gv.at will no longer accept e-invoices in the ebInterface 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 formats. PEPPOL can also be used to transmit electronic invoices. For this, the invoices must be issued in a UBL format.
