Meet Lucie: Bridging Technology and Compliance

At Storecove, innovation comes from people with a wide range of experiences and perspectives. In this edition of Meet the Team, we're introducing Lucie, a Software Engineer who joined Storecove in December 2025.

Originally from France and now based in the Netherlands, Lucie's path into software development wasn't a traditional one. With a background in languages, literature, and international studies, she brings a unique perspective to the development team and plays an important role in helping Storecove navigate one of the most significant e-invoicing initiatives currently underway: France's upcoming mandate.

From Literature to Software Development

Lucie's educational background surprises many people. Before becoming a developer, she earned a bachelor's degree focused on French Literature and languages, studying French, English, Italian, and Spanish. While mathematics and computer science are often associated with software development careers, Lucie's journey demonstrates that there is no single path into technology.

After working with startups and gaining experience in fast-paced environments, she eventually relocated from France to the Netherlands. Her experience working with growing companies ultimately led her to Storecove, where she found an environment that matched both her interests and working style.

Building for France's E-Invoicing Future

One of the most notable projects Lucie has worked on at Storecove involves France's upcoming e-invoicing mandate. As someone who understands both the language and the local context, she plays an important role in helping ensure Storecove's solutions align with the requirements established by the French government.

According to Lucie, the project requires balancing multiple perspectives.

"As a developer, you have to understand both the technical side and the customer side," she explains. "You need to follow the documentation carefully to make sure you're meeting all of the requirements needed for approval while also keeping things simple and efficient for customers."

France's mandate is one of the most significant regulatory developments in Europe, making accuracy, compliance, and usability critical priorities throughout the development process.

What Makes Storecove Different?

When asked what makes Storecove's solution stand out, Lucie points to something many team members mention: collaboration.

Because Storecove operates with a smaller, highly connected team, employees can communicate directly with colleagues across departments to solve problems and find the best solutions for customers.

"In larger companies, teams can be much more segmented. At Storecove, it's easy to talk to different people and work together."

This shorter line of communication allows ideas to move quickly and helps ensure decisions are made with input from multiple perspectives.

For developers, that means being able to collaborate directly with product, operations, support, sales, and marketing teams when needed.

Favorite Part About Working at Storecove

When asked what she liked most about working at Storecove, Lucie's answer was immediate. Michael!

Lucie enjoys the opportunity to connect with Michael both professionally and personally. Whether they're discussing development projects, industry topics, or completely unrelated subjects, she appreciates having someone she can easily talk to throughout the workday.

It's a reminder that while technology powers what Storecove does, relationships remain at the center of the company's culture.

Life Outside of Storecove

Outside of work, Lucie has a wide range of interests, many of which revolve around sports, travel, and learning about different cultures.

She enjoys watching sporting events from around the world and had the opportunity to attend the Olympic Games in Paris. She also follows international competitions such as the FIFA World Cup and keeps up with professional basketball.

Sports are not just something she watches, they're also an important part of her daily routine.

Lucie regularly attends spin classes, enjoys running, and uses physical activity to manage stress and maintain balance.

When she's not working or exercising, you'll likely find her reading. She's currently revisiting the Harry Potter series, one of her longtime favorites.

Travel is another major passion. Lucie enjoys experiencing different cultures and has already visited destinations such as Japan, Bali, and countries across Europe. Her next adventure is already planned: a trip to New York this September.

A Future in Communication?

If given the opportunity to swap roles with someone at Storecove for a day, Lucie wouldn't choose another technical position.

Instead, she would join the Marketing team.

Her reasoning is simple: she wants to continue developing her communication skills. Lucie is interested in learning how to communicate more effectively, not only with colleagues in other departments but also with customers. She sees communication as an important skill regardless of role and is always looking for opportunities to grow. Of course, the opportunity to spend some time in New York wouldn't hurt either.

Three Words to Describe Storecove

When asked to describe Storecove in three words, Lucie chose:

Challenging. Friendly. Dynamic.

The work is constantly evolving as governments introduce new requirements and customers face new challenges. At the same time, the company's collaborative environment creates a welcoming atmosphere where people can learn from one another and grow together. For Lucie, that combination makes Storecove an exciting place to build both technology and a career.

We're grateful to have her on the team and look forward to seeing her continued contributions as Storecove helps shape the future of global e-invoicing.
